Summary

Who we are

Range Rally is developed by Gregory Dolder, an independent developer (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Range Rally apps for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (“the app”) and this website. You can reach us at rangerallygolf@gmail.com.

What we don’t collect

We don’t collect, store, sell or share personal information. The app contains no third-party code for analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking, and it doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We don’t operate servers that receive data from the app.

Data you create in the app

As you use Range Rally, the app stores the information you enter or generate, including:

• Practice sessions and shots: club, distance, shot direction, time and, if you record a workout, heart rate.
• Target Practice games: targets, your distances, points and scores.
• Virtual rounds and scorecards, including strokes and putts.
• Your bags and clubs, custom courses, achievements, streaks and practice calendar.
• Conversations with the AI coaches, and your app settings.

This data is stored on your device. We have no access to it. It’s used only to provide the app’s features to you.

iCloud sync

Range Rally uses Apple’s CloudKit to keep your data in sync across your iPhone and iPad. Your data is stored in the private iCloud database that belongs to your Apple Account. Apple stores it under the Apple Privacy Policy, and it isn’t accessible to us. You can turn off iCloud for Range Rally at any time in iOS Settings.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

Health features are optional. If you allow it, Range Rally uses HealthKit to:

• Read heart rate, active energy, resting energy, and walking and running distance during practice sessions and rounds you choose to record as workouts.
• Write those sessions and rounds to the Health app as golf workouts.

Health data is used only to record your workouts and to show heart rate and calories in Range Rally. Heart-rate readings saved with your shots and sessions become part of your Range Rally data on your device and in your private iCloud database.

We never use Health data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, never share it with third parties and never store it on our own servers. You can change Range Rally’s Health permissions at any time in the Health app or in iOS Settings.

Apple Watch and voice logging

The Apple Watch app exchanges your bags, shots and rounds directly with your iPhone using Apple’s WatchConnectivity. On Apple Watch it can start a golf workout to measure heart rate and calories, if you allow it.

Voice logging on Apple Watch uses Apple’s dictation. Apple converts your speech to text under its own privacy policy; Range Rally receives only the text, such as “7 iron 150 yards straight”, and reads it on your watch. We never receive audio.

The iPhone and iPad app doesn’t use your camera, microphone or speech recognition, and never asks for access to them.

AI coaching

The AI coaches use Apple Intelligence’s on-device model. Your sessions, rounds and questions are processed on your iPhone and aren’t sent to us or to any AI provider. Coaching conversations are saved with your Range Rally data and sync through your private iCloud database like the rest of your data.

If you use Report an Issue in a coaching chat, Range Rally opens a pre-filled email in your mail app with the coach’s name, the time, the app version, your device model and its iOS version. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send that email.

Other features

• Share cards for Target Practice, sessions, rounds and achievements are images created on your device. They go only where you send them with the iOS share sheet.
• Export and import create and read CSV or JSON files on your device. You decide where an export file is saved or sent.
• Streak reminders are optional local notifications scheduled on your device. We don’t send push notifications or track whether you open them.

Purchases

Range Rally Premium is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment, and we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account information. The app checks whether you own Premium using Apple’s StoreKit on your device.

When you email us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and help you, keep it only as long as the conversation needs, and never add you to a mailing list or share it. Our email is provided by Google (Gmail), which processes messages under its own privacy policy.

This website

rangerallygolf.com uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking scripts. Its fonts are served from this site.

• Hosting. The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and may keep short-lived server logs. We don’t use these logs to identify you.
• App Store badge. The “Download on the App Store” badge is loaded from Apple’s servers, so Apple receives your IP address and browser information when a page shows it. Links to the App Store take you to Apple, whose privacy policy applies there.

Children

Range Rally is rated 4+ and suitable for golfers of all ages. Because we don’t collect personal information from anyone, we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age where you live).

Your choices and rights

Because we don’t hold your personal data, there’s nothing on our side to access, correct, export or delete. You stay in control from your devices:

• Export your data from Settings › Data Management › Export Data.
• Delete it with Settings › Data Management › Reset App Data.
• Manage Health access in the Health app, and iCloud sync in iOS Settings.

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act may give you rights over personal data. We don’t sell or share personal information as those laws define it. If you have a privacy question or request, email rangerallygolf@gmail.com and we’ll respond. Security and retention

Your data is protected by your device’s security and passcode, and by Apple’s iCloud security when you sync. It stays on your devices and in your iCloud until you delete it, delete the app’s iCloud data, or reset the app.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Range Rally handles data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change means the app will collect data, we’ll update this policy and the App Store privacy label before that version is released.
